Guys!! It’s not fun when the item you paid for has something wrong with the packaging or the thing breaks after you open it. So you now have to check the retailer’s refund process. If you bought this item at The Home Depot, you’d be happy to know that the Home Depot Return Policy process is easy. You don’t have to go through the hassle of explaining if you don’t like the product or don’t need it anymore.
What Is Home Depot Return Policy?
The Home Depot accepts returns of most new, unused items within 90 days after purchase, with some exceptions listed in our Return Policy Exceptions. The Few and Far Between Exceptions to the Return Policy.
For purchases made on a The Home Depot Consumer Credit Card, The Home Depot Commercial Revolving Charge, or a The Home Depot Commercial Account, you have 365 days from the date of purchase to return the item for a full refund, unless one of the exceptions listed in our return policy applies.
The Home Depot may, at its discretion, offer an exchange, a cash refund, an account credit, or a refund in the form of store credit (“Store Credit”) upon receipt of a valid proof of purchase for a returned item.
Unless otherwise specified in the Return Policy Exceptions, refunds will be made using the same payment method as the original purchase. A Store Credit would be issued in the amount of a returned product if the initial payment was made using a gift card or Store Credit.
Perhaps we might find your lost receipt in our archives. If it’s been less than 30 days since your purchase, you can probably look up your ticket in our system.
Within 365 days following a purchase, you can look up a receipt in our system if you used The Home Depot Consumer Credit Card, The Home Depot Commercial Revolving Charge, or The Home Depot Commercial Account.
If the return results from an error on The Home Depot’s part, the original shipping costs will be repaid in full. The rule has some caveats (including Express Delivery and Major Appliance). All claims must be included in return for a refund to be processed.
The Home Depot will gladly supply you with a written copy of their return policy if you ask for one.
